Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey Star in Kubo and the Two Strings

On Friday August 19, some of Hollywood’s finest step up to the mic to voice the characters of the animated feature film Kubo and the Two Strings. The stop-motion 3D action adventure tells the tale of a young Japanese boy named Kubo who cares for his sick mom and must become a warrior in order to survive a recently revived threat from gods and monsters. The film is directed by Travis Knight and written by Marc Haimes and Chris Butler and produced by Laika and Focus, the studios who brought us Coraline and ParmaNorman.


Charlize Theron voices the monkey. Art Parkinson is young Kubo, Matthew McConaughey is the voice of Beetle and George Takei is Hosato. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Rooney Mara and Brenda Vaccaro.
